چکیده

Cloud Computing is transfiguring development of information technology industry by providing scalable services on a pay per use basis. Cloud hosts and consumers are tied with service level agreement (SLA). SLA provides description of services provided by the cloud host. A cloud host can serve to multiple consumers and this is called cloud computing multi tenant model. Though, cloud shows infinite capacity, still there must be some policy to maintain order of execution of users’ tasks. Consumers can be served in a first come first serve, round robin or on a priority basis. This paper proposes a new leasing policy named CRI (Consumer Rating Index) and an algorithm for prioritizing consumers on the basis of CRI scores. Experimental results show that this policy and algorithm can be used for efficient functioning at cloud hosts side. Keywords— IaaS, Resource management, Rating based priority, CRI.

IAR: Improved Advance Reservation in IaaS Clouds

Cloud data centers have a large number of resources. Management of such huge amount of resources for a large number of consumers requires fail-safe algorithms and leasing policies. Advance Reservation (AR) leasing policy is a rigid policy, which needs resource and consumer locking at a very early point of time, while advanced reserved lease can be rejected at actual point of time when resources...

Algorithms for cost- and deadline-constrained provisioning for scientific workflow ensembles in IaaS clouds

Large-scale applications expressed as scientific workflows are often grouped into ensembles of inter-related workflows. In this paper, we address a new and important problem concerning the efficient management of such ensembles under budget and deadline constraints on Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) clouds. IaaS clouds are characterized by ondemand resource provisioning capabilities and a pa...

Efficient Resource Allocation and Scheduling in Cloud Computing Environment

The cloud architecture is usually composed of several XaaS layers—including Software as a Service (SaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS) and Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS). The previous work studies efficient resource allocation to optimize objectives of cloud users, IaaS provider and SaaS provider in cloud computing. This work proposes the composition of different layers in the cloud, such a...

Profit - Aware Policy Scheduler ( PAPS ) for Resource Allocation in IaaS Clouds

Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) is a type of Cloud Computing service delivery model that provides compute, storage, and network resources to the consumers in an on demand manner. In IaaS cloud environment, resource allocation is one of the complex tasks due to the heterogeneous nature of cloud resources and dynamic job requirements to run the jobs. However, the IaaS cloud resource allocation...

Economy Based Resource Allocation in IaaS Cloud

Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) offers hardware resources (computing power, storage and network) as a service to its customers. The customers order these resources in the form of a lease. Aim of any service provider is to make a leasing plan to maximize the number of accepted leases. Opennebula is popular open source toolkit for building IaaS cloud. Opennebula has its own lease manager and i...
